Summary

Global server load balancing has evolved over time. Rather than having an operator set DNS records by hand or with basic health checks, RUM and big data are now being used to decide the optimal Rdata in real-time. 50% of the Alexa US top 10 leverage RUM based DNS steering, and in this talk, we’ll cover how LinkedIn leverage it to improve site speed and availability.
