A note from the OARC President:

 

Hello,

As some of you who are planning to attend OARC 45 in Stockholm this coming October have noticed, the discounted rate we had negotiated with the venue hotel, the Quality Globe Hotel only covered the days from the 6th to the 8th of October.

Normally, we always make sure that the event rate extends to at least one day before, and one after the workshop. This is especially relevant since OARC45 is being organized alongside the Netnod Tech Meeting 2025, on October 9th, which we are sure many of you will also want to attend.

Unfortunately this wasn't possible: the OARC discounted rate won't extend beyond the 8th, and this isn't something we can adjust, as the hotel has already run out of the room types, and corresponding rates.

However, we do want to point out that there are several nearby hotels with very reasonable rates, that those of you planning to attend can take into consideration:

Two such examples are:

- Scandic Sjöfartshotellet

- Motel L Hammarby Sjöstad which incidentally is the hotel that was arranged by Internetstiftelsen for participants in the joint DNS Hackathon

As it turns out, there is no commitment to book a minimum number of rooms for OARC participants, so feel free to stay at whatever hotel is most convenient. It is worth noting that the negotiated rate for the event days is rather good, with the benefit of the accommodation being in the same complex as the event.

Do note that the discounted rate runs until the 7th of August, after which it will not be available anymore.
