OARC 47 Community-Led Sessions

OARC 47 Community Sessions Day

DNS-OARC is planning a full day of community-driven sessions on Wednesday, 11 November 2026, the day after the main OARC 47 workshop programme.

This additional day is intended to create space for practical work, smaller-group discussion, hands-on knowledge sharing, and focused community collaboration that can be difficult to fit into the regular workshop agenda.

Community Sessions Day will not require a separate registration fee for registered OARC 47 attendees.

What kinds of sessions are we looking for?

Possible session formats include:

  • software demos
  • BOFs
  • hackathons
  • focused working group or interest group meetings
  • standards or BCP discussions
  • operator round-tables
  • “help me brainstorm this problem” sessions

Sessions may be proposed by individuals, organizations, working groups, or informal community groups.

Available space and schedule

We have conference rooms available from 08:00–17:00 PDT on 11 November. Each room can hold up to 15 people and includes basic boardroom AV.

The day is currently planned around the following session blocks:

  • 08:30–10:00 session block
  • 10:00–10:30 morning coffee break
  • 10:30–12:00 session block
  • 12:00–13:00 lunch
  • 13:00–14:30 session block
  • 14:30–15:00 afternoon coffee break
  • 15:00–16:30 session block

Sessions may use one or more blocks depending on the format, organizer availability, and room scheduling.

Help shape the day

We are currently collecting session ideas, but we especially need members and community participants who are willing to:

  • host a session
  • help organize a session
  • suggest a topic with a named contact or potential lead
  • point us toward someone already interested in leading a project, topic, or discussion

There is also space in the form to indicate attendee interest in possible session topics.

Submitting a proposal or expression of interest does not guarantee a confirmed room or time slot. OARC staff will review responses and follow up to confirm session details, timing, room fit, and any support needed.

A schedule for the day will be published once submissions have been reviewed and sessions are confirmed.
